Supercars’ return to actual racing at Sydney Motorsport Park today saw Jack Smith continue to show how consistent he is in the category, with the alleged racing car driver somehow managing to maintain his ability to get lapped by most of the field despite months of time away that some thought might affect his ability to actually drive the car.

“Yeah. We’ve definitely managed to maintain exactly the same consistent pace we’ve always had, so that’s nice.” Jack told The Waterton Chronicle.

“I spoke to my Nan a few times over the break, really just looking for some advice on how to drive. Her “slow and steady wins the race” thing really hit me.” Jack continued.

“I’ve nailed the slow part. Now I need to work on the ‘steady’ and ‘wins the race’ part.”.

Meanwhile at the pointy end of the race, Scott McLaughlin has once again royally pissed off Paulie the Parity Pelican by beating the two Triple 8 Red Bull cars again.

“Yeah. Look. We honestly thought giving Scotty a bad sportsmanship flag towards the end there might give Shane (van Gisbergen) enough of a leg up to get past him, but it looks like we’ll have to have a dig through the race footage overnight and see if we can find anything else that gives us an excuse to gift the win to Triple 8.” Paulie explained.

“It’s going to be an all-nighter for us.” the seabird squawked.
