Supercars’ Head of Parity, Paulie the Parity Pelican, is facing an uncertain future tonight as the series flails around desperately looking for a new manufacturer to compete with the Ford Mustangs.
“My entire job description revolves around making it as unattractive as possible for anyone other than Holden to enter the series.” Paulie told The Waterton Chronicle.
“I feel like I’ve done a pretty good job overall. At the beginning of my reign we had Ford, Nissan, Mercedes and Volvo all thinking it was OK to just turn up and actually try to stop Holden from winning.. And BMW were lurking around looking at entering too.”
“I put a stop to all that nonsense with my keen eye for parity.” Paulie squawked.
Unfortunately it seems Paulie’s enthusiasm for “parity” might have been his undoing, with the series somehow struggling to attract any new brands, for some reason.
Paulie went on to explain that even if Supercars does become The Mustang Cup, he’ll probably just switch from being a contractor to Triple 8 to a full time employee.
“There’s still going to be parity issues to resolve, even if everyone is running the same car.” Paulie said.
