Speculation is mounting that the NRL has basically just given up and is looking to go down in a blaze of glory at this point, with Raelene Castle apparently the frontrunner to lead the full-scale poverty-stricken league beyond “fxxked” to “proper fxxked”.
The news comes following the sudden exit of CEO Todd Greenberg, after old mate was apparently asked one too many questions about where all the money has gone.
“Basically what we’re looking for in a CEO at this point is someone who will pretend everything is absolutely fine when it clearly isn’t.” A spokesperson for the NRL told The Waterton Chronicle.
“Raelene has proven time and time again she excels at that.”.
The spokesperson went on to explain that Raelene’s handling of Rugby Australia’s “transition” from global Rugby powerhouse to invisible laughing stock is a “prime example”.
“She absolutely nailed that KPI. We’re looking forward to just quietly disappearing from the Australian sports landscape, and we’re really confident she can help us achieve that.”.
