There are self-congratulatory wings flapping everywhere in the Supercars Parity motorhome this afternoon after Triple 8 cars topped both qualifying sessions at the Melbourne 400.
The news comes after a difficult weekend for the pelicans in Adelaide last time out, after all the hard work they put in over the last few years to make sure Triple 8 always wins was undone when the team somehow managed to lose despite all the help.
“Oh we’re absolutely stoked. All our hard work is finally paying off.” explained Head of Parity Paulie the Parity Pelican.
“Yeeaaahhh boy!” said one of Paulie’s assistant pelicans, before putting down his beer to give this reporter an impromptu hug for some reason.
Paulie went on to explain that as a result of their success, the team of seabirds has been given the night off and will shortly be heading off to Crown Casino for what will surely be a pretty rowdy night.
More to come.
