Supercars: Jono Webb Slides Into Lewis Hamilton’s DM’s

With just three and a half days until Team Sydney and the rest of the Supercars circus are meant to be hitting the track at the Australian Grand Prix, TEKNO, sorry, “Team Sydney” boss Jono Webb still hasn’t figured out who’s driving his car. Or if he has, he’s forgotten to tell anyone.

The Waterton Sports Chronicle learned this morning that Jono may have had a few too many Cokes last night and apparently slid awkwardly into Lewis Hamilton’s DM’s on Twitter in an effort to see if he might be keen to have a go in the still driverless car.

“Hey Lewis, big fan of yours. Look, I’m wondering if you might wanna have a go in our car this weekend? It’ll only cost you $500,000 and as we showed in Adelaide, the car is definitely good enough for an easy podium now that Courtney isn’t around to put it in the wall. Oh and you can have all the Diet Coke you want.” the message allegedly read.

He apparently sent similar DM’s to Brendan Fevola, Sir Stirling Moss, Sylvester Stallone, Peter Dutton, Dame Judy Dench, Sir Frank Williams, Buddy Franklin, Margot Robbie, Waleed Aly, Jonathan Thurston, Jacinda Ardern, Anthony Mundine, and Gladys Berejiklian.

More to come.
