After basically demolishing everyone and everything that stood in his way in 2019, including apparently the entire Supercars organisation and even, according to some media reports, someone’s balcony with a wayward shock absorber on the Gold Coast, the thing Scotty is looking forward to most is being able to focus solely on turning left next year.
DJR Team Penske boss Ryan Story was surprisingly candid when this reporter spoke to him.
“What we’ve found with Scotty is that he’s just so far ahead of the rest of the field in terms of actual ability, we think it’s just better for everyone if he stops winning in this category before that bloody pelican turns up again and makes us throw another 30kg on the roof to stop Triple 8 crying.”.
“Wouldn’t it be fun to see what he can do when he doesn’t have to worry about turning right, or braking zones, or any of that stuff?” added Story.
The Waterton Sports Chronicle understands NASCAR is already talking to Supercars in an effort to learn how best to stop Scotty making their drivers look like amateurs next year.
“I mean, the kid spanked them even though he had to think about right turns, and actual braking and stuff. Imagine what he can do if he doesn’t have to worry about all that stuff.” said NASCAR expert Billy Ray Cyrus.
