Supercars: Percat And Pye Sneak 8 Boxes Of Sour Grapes Into McLaughlin’s Car Overnight

In a developing story that emerged overnight at the Newcastle 500, it appears perennial backmarkers Nick Percat and Scott Pye have been taken under the wing of hipster cafe owner David Reynolds in a High School Musical-style plot to try to make Scott McLaughlin forget how to drive faster than them.

Sources for The Waterton Chronicle, who are currently covering the Supercars event on location, have confirmed the trio were spotted late last night transporting the boxes of Reynolds’ Specialty Sour Grapes towards the Team Penske garages.

“We didn’t even recognise them at first. We thought they must be catering staff or something because no one knew who they were.” said our source.

“But then Percat started ranting something about how he apparently won Bathurst”, at which point Scott Pye couldn’t resist the urge to chime in about how he won some race in Melbourne that no one saw.

Apparently Reynolds was heard mumbling something incoherent about his leg cramping up.

More to come.
