After reducing the 2019 championship to nothing short of a farce, Supercars is now scrambling to bring back the coveted 0-158 demographic, and they’re not messing about.
With the discovery that only a tiny percentage of fans are truly comatose enough for long enough to not notice what they’ve been up to this season, they’ve taken the drastic step of hiring somewhat controversial former F1 team boss Flavio Briatore as a “Young People Ambassador”, apparently in the hope that he will be able to convince someone or hopefully a few people that it’s not as bad as it looks.
Newly promoted Head of Supercars Paulie the Parity Pelican said Flavio brings with him a “wealth of experience with young people”.
“I mean his experience is mostly related to the younger female demographic, to be fair. But we’re confident he can apply that knowledge to the youth in general” said the surprisingly articulate seabird.
“I know a lot about young people. Like, seriously, a lot.” said a pretty satisfied Flavio.
