Albany, Browns Bay and Takapuna residents are still celebrating today after their team’s stunning victory in the Rugby World Cup, and they don’t intend to calm down anytime soon, apparently.
Browns Bay resident Sturmus Swanepoel (63) told this reporter plans are well underway for a massive street parade to really hammer home the fact that New Zealand didn’t win the tournament.
“Yes, it’s such a tremendous occasion isn’t it?! A few years ago the parade would have been limited to Browns Bay, but these days we’ve got residents all over the Shore so this is going to be quite the spectacle” he said.
“We’ll be kicking off at the Browns Bay Biltong Shop and marching all the way over to Albany, before heading over to Takapuna Beach for a few Carlsbergs”.
More to come.
